Five new albums (and one EP) that I love from 2025
I’ve started doing an annual refresh of my “There’s No Good Music Anymore” playlist on Spotify, adding new songs from 2025 and removing those from 2014. The idea is the same: a playlist of 200+ songs from 200+ different artists, all released in the last ten years. So, check it out if you’re cynical.
In related news, here are five albums (and one EP) I love from 2025, in no particular order:
Of Monsters and Men | All is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade
While it’s not their best album, it’s been six very long years since the last album from one of my favourite live bands ever.
There’s a Tuesday | Blush
Great album for a road trip! One of the best debut albums in recent years.
Charlie Cunningham | In Light
Great for headphone listening. Charlie Cunningham keeps getting better and better, and this is a standout favourite of mine.
Taylor Swift | The Life of a Showgirl
Although I’m still smitten with the Folklork/Evermore albums, I think this is one of her best, but my opinion is a bit controversial.
Lowswimmer | Godspeed, Fantasy
Solo album from a musician better known for his collaborations with Novo Amor, this is very much in the same vein.
Old Sea Brigade | If Only I Knew, Pt. 2
I’ve always liked a small handful of Old Sea Brigade songs, but this EP doubled the number of songs of theirs that I like.
